Pastor's Biography

Pastor John Oluyole is a faithful follower of Christ, leader, husband, father, and entrepreneur, who is devoted to carrying out the will of God. He is married to Lady Evangelist Angela S. Oluyole, is the father of three children, and grandfather of two beautiful girls. Pastor John’s story began in Washington D.C. where he was born and raised. After graduating high school, he continued his education at Montgomery Community College in Takoma, Park, MD. Although he dreamed of going out west to California, Pastor John decided to attend Howard University, to pursue an accounting degree from the School of Business.

The party and clubbing lifestyle at Howard became a normalcy for Pastor John at the time, and he had not yet followed Jesus. It wasn’t until he visited Nigeria for the first time in December 1991 that something unusual would happen. In southwest Nigera, a town called Ikoro, Ekiti, a man of God prophesied to him that he would be used by God in the near future and that he would be a great man of God. Pastor John remembered two things from that night; his heart burned as if it were on fire, and he saw a bright light when his eyes were closed. Not fully understanding God at the age of 19, he continued to do his own thing until the day he fully surrendered to Christ. He then graduated from Howard in 1997.

Prior to graduating, in March 1994, Pastor John met Ms. Angela Kerr, who was a member of Bethesda International Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. As he was captivated by her beauty, they began talking often on the phone. Their first date led him to visiting Bethesda Bible School of Faith and Wisdom. Though they were on a date, he was greatly inspired by the teaching and began to desire more of the things of God. This encounter would mark his life, as he then registered for more Bible classes while managing his college courses.

Pastor John was baptized by the Early Bishop Veronica E. Watson of Bethesda Int’l Church on April 1994. Shortly after, he married Lady Evangelist Angela on November 8th, 1997.

Since joining the Bible college, he continued to serve in many capacities and roles in the house of Bethesda: Such as a Deacon, Minister, Elder, Intercessor, committed member of the choir called Judah, baptizing of souls in the pool, Pastoral Armor Bearer, President of the Men's Dept., Sunday School Teacher, Overseeing Elder of Bethesda’s Royal Social Events Committee, Bishop’s Driver, Church Accountant, Ministry of Helps and much more.

He also received his Master of Science in Information Technology and Accounting from the University of Maryland, University College in 2012. In May 2017, he received a degree in Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University. Bishop Veronica E. Watson became a spiritual mentor to Pastor John, and she took great delight in him. He was appointed to the office of Assistant Pastor on October 23rd, 2022 until the transition of Early Bishop Watson into glory just 4 days later. Upon her transition, Pastor John was led by the Lord and wise counsel to step into being the full time leader of Bethesda International Church.

Pastor John possesses and exemplifies the spirit of humility. He can be best described as one who is of a humble spirit and has a great appetite for the word of God. Pastor John also believes that ministry goes beyond the four walls of the church. He has worked in Corporate America for more than 12 years, and is currently employed with the District of Columbia (Office of Tax and Revenue, Audit & Criminal Investigation unit). His entrepreneurial pursuits include being the CEO and founder of GHG Sports (Give Him Glory), an athlete and marketing representation firm. He has represented several undrafted free agents and professional football players in the National Football League, Canadian Football League, United States Football League, and XFL as a sports agent. Pastor John Oluyole’s desire is to disciple the next generation and to fulfill the mandate of the Great Commission. He has a vision for the next generation of leaders to allow God to express Himself through them in their own circles of influence. He carries out this vision through the installed discipleship program.
